The Mobile NAC (Network Access Control) module ensures that devices have required security measures in place before allowing connectivity and granting access to applications and data. Mobile NAC also works with the Policy Management module to remediate devices without impacting workers.

Deploy quickly.
Using the NAC wizard, you can configure and deploy security policies in minutes without reconfiguring the network infrastructure.

Ensure security compliance.
Mobile devices are scanned for compliance with required software including antivirus, antispyware, firewall, operating system version, WindowsTM update status, registry keys, and other applications.

Exert flexible control over non‐compliant devices.
Based on severity, you can issue simple warnings or reminders, or disconnect or quarantine the device. Set a notification if a device fails a NAC check at or above a specified severity, in case administrator assistance is required.

Remediate devices automatically.
Depending on connection speed, use the Policy Management module to trigger customizable policies that can launch remediation web pages or initiate software downloads. You can also use existing device‐management systems to update security applications and signature files.

Automate updates and compliance checks.
Updated rules are automatically pushed down to client devices. Devices are also rescanned at intervals to ensure ongoing compliance.

Consistent support on multiple platforms.
NAC is supported on all Windows‐based clients: lap‐ tops, handhelds and smart phones.
Enforce Security While Maintaining Worker Productivity
A mobile worker shouldn’t have to interrupt the workday to deal with a low-grade security concern. Together, the Mobile NAC and Policy Management modules give you infinitely flexible options, including taking specific action based on the speed of the current connection, time of day, etc. A typical example:
  • If anti-virus signatures are more than seven days old, send a reminder message to update
  • If more than 14 days old and on a WWAN connection, send a reminder to update as soon as possible
  • If more than 14 days old and on a Wi-FI or LAN connection, download new signatures immediately
  • If more than 21 days old, quarantine the device
The same capability can be used to automatically download and install updates and operating system patches, at a time and in a manner that minimizes impact on worker productivity — all while protecting the device and the network.

White Paper
Mobility XE’s Mobile Network Access Control (NAC) module allows mobile devices (laptops, tablet PCs, handhelds and smartphones) to connect to the enterprise network only after meeting specified security policies. With NAC deployed administrators have greater control and flexibility over the response to a device that does not meet security guidelines. Based on severity and even the speed of their connection, administrators may choose from simple warnings, to triggering customizable remediation policies that can limit application access, launch websites, or even initiate software downloads, to disconnecting or quarantining the device.

This white paper outlines the process for NAC rule creation and deployment to mobile devices.
